Our monoskis are already prepared by our factory, ready to ride:
Sole / Base is grinded and waxed (universal wax for all snow conditions)
Edges are grinded (88 degrees on the side, 1 degree on the base) and detuned at tip and tail.
A new base is very thirsty. Especially at the beginning it is necessary to wax it in shorter intervals then usual. For a long ski life get the ski hot waxed after the first days of use or if you see the sole becoming dry.
If you find your ski too catchy on tip or tail, get a edge rubber and detune the edges slightly more. Do just a little bit, make a run to test it and do it again if necessary. A ski shop can help you out with that as well. Its just a few seconds of work and the rubber fits in you pockets so you can do it directly on the slope.
Before storing a ski for the summer you should get the base hot waxed after your last run. A dried out base can get ‘immune’ to wax. It takes no wax anymore and even a base grind does not help sometimes.
Store the monoski in a dry, cool and sun protected (dark room or skibag) location, laying on one side (never on the base) Or put it in a shelf with the binding down, supported on each end.
If you follow these simple rules you keep yourself and your monoski happy for a long time.
